About

The Lost Lending Library is an immersive theatre production by Punchdrunk Enrichment, presented at the Esplanade as part of the March On 2025 festival. This interactive experience invites participants to explore a fictional library that travels the world, aiming to inspire creativity and a love for storytelling among children and adults alike. The performance is designed to engage audiences in a unique narrative environment, encouraging imaginative exploration.

At 314 floors high and with 78 spiral-side departments, The Lost Lending Library houses the largest collection of books and stories in the world. Tales of all shapes and sizes are crammed together on its shelves with new adventures bursting into life from their covers

Inside, a new library apprentice eagerly awaits your arrival. But the library has a habit of playing tricks and things often don’t go as planned. They need your help to learn how to believe in themselves, and to keep collecting new stories.

These sessions have been set aside, especially for children and accompanying adults. To allow as many children as possible to enjoy this magical experience, we kindly encourage no more than two adults to accompany each child.

Please note that audience members will be seated on the floor, and latecomers arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time will not be admitted. All children must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 or older.

March On is Esplanade’s annual festival for young audiences, a vibrant celebration of the stories and experiences that matter to them. With a sense of playfulness and wonder, the festival also supports artists in crafting meaningful and imaginative works for young audiences.
